The current environment that exists in most developed nations has become a hazardous one in it's own right, filled with artificial chemicals that our bodies are not equipped to process, and we are faced with unprecedented levels of environmental issues that have bloomed as we have developed technology beyond our means to recognize it's long term effects. Through these means, mercury is released into the atmosphere where eventually plankton consumes it and it eventually works its way up the food chain into humans where it results in everything from skin rashes to memory loss and impaired movement.

Other common ailments include stiff joints, such as frozen shoulder syndrome, and an increase in arthritis later in life. Knuckle or shoulder pain are frequent concerns, particularly if you regularly place stress on any particular joint.

Electromagnetic Fields.
Humans face constant exposure to fairly benign electromagnetic fields - they're everywhere in out modern world - but those living in close proximity to particularly low frequency electromagnetic fields, such as underneath power lines faced increased risks. These include higher rates of childhood leukemia and occasionally some forms of cancer in adults. There is still research taking place to determine how much of a risk is actually associated with proximity to certain electromagnetic fields, but in the meantime it is probably still better to avoid them.
